On October 24 and 25, we finished the judging job of GDC 09 Awards which is the most important event of GDC 09. 29 judges from 10 regions are top designers and scholars who represent the authority on design. They devoted themselves to accomplish the judging job in Shenzhen OCT Art & Design Gallery.



GDC 09 calls for entries all over the world from July to October 16. Professional and students are the two groups for participants. The categories of GDC 09 cover graphic design, advertising, interactive, product, environmental and hybrid. The juries of GDC 09 Awards are as follows: Bi Xuefeng (China), Brian O＇Neil (United States), Han Jiaying (China), Benny Au (China), Irma Boom (Netherlands), Ruedi Baur (France), Eric Adolfsen (United States), Jan Wilker (United States), Ryusuke Tanaka (Japan), Liu Zhizhi (China), Johan Vakidis (Canada), Peter Soh (Singapore), Pim Gerrits (Netherlands), Naoki Ito (Japan), Thomas Castro (Netherlands), Qian Qian (United States), Yeoh Guan Hong (China), Tom Tjaarda (Italy), Terence Woodgate (United Kingdom), Tom Shi (China), Ou Ning (China), Max Bruinsma (Netherlands)，Katsunori Aoki (Japan), Ken Miki (Japan), Lu Ming (China), Jay Phua (Singapore), Nick Lim (China), Li Hu (China) and Meng Yan (China).As the most important figure in the creative industry, juries professionally accomplish the judging job for every category entries. The principle of judging is: 1. select the favorite entries, 2. choose the best of the best, 3. put quality before quantity, 4. make the new standard for the future creative design competition together.

After the two rounds judging, some entries from six categories have been awarded. All the awarded works will be exhibited in OCT Art & Design Gallery and included in the yearbook of GDC 09. Look forward to the GDC 09 Gala on December 4. The result will be announced on the Gala.
