They set up the brand design company 1983ASIA in Shenzhen in 2012, established the ASIA AESTHETICS INSTITUTE in 2017, focusing on the aesthetic research of Asian local culture and art, and founded the floral shirt brand MASH UP !!! ASIA in 2018. Their work is based on the diversity and symbiosis of Asian culture, and take a clever union of cultural communication and commercial design.
1983ASIA explores Asian culture and art from the perspective of contemporary design, and has formed a unique Asian mash-up aesthetic style in the international arena, with clients from all over the world in a variety of fields, and with creations covering brand identity design, key visual design, mascot IP design, packaging design, derivative design, and art crossover, etc. The design works have won many international design awards, and have been invited for exhibitions and publications all over the world, as well as organizing the touring exhibition of "AMAZING ASIA" in Taiwan, Macau, and Shenzhen.
They are members of TDAA/The Design Alliance Asia, SCCDA/Shenzhen Cultural Creativity and Design Association, curators of the "ASIA GOOD DESIGN" Designer Lecture at ICIF/China(Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, judges of the APD/ Asia-Pacific Design, and invited designers for the large-scale intangible cultural heritage rejuvenation program "ALL REVIVING" on Jiangsu Satellite Television. As a well-known Behance design blogger, they were also selected as Design Hero by the Italian design award A'Design Award, and published the "AMAZING ASIA - MUSH UP! BRANDING DESIGN" design series, and even invited by Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Macao Polytechnic University, Shenzhen University and other colleges and universities as the "ASIAN AESTHETICS" course instructors.
During the more than ten years since its establishment, 1983ASIA has not only been organically combining Asian culture with commercial art and design, but has also been taking the responsibility of spreading Asian local culture and art, and endeavoring to explore the local cultures of Asian countries, including China, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, India, Vietnam, etc., and injecting the elements of these cultures into its design concepts in a inclusive, plural, and coexisting way, and presenting them in front of the world.
