The original logo took the initial letter "G" of the pinyin for "Guo" (meaning "state" in Chinese) as its design inspiration, symbolizing "state-owned enterprise" and "national pharmaceutical brand". It incorporated double red arcs and a green cross to reflect the business scope of the brand. Over decades of market practice and accumulation, it has formed a strong and powerful cognitive memory, becoming a precious brand visual asset worthy of inheritance.
The special design innovation team established by Dongguan Guoyao Pharmacy and Xiexie Design (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation Team) also deeply recognized the popularity and reputation of the Guoyao brand in Dongguan. Through repeated research and communication, they also gained a profound understanding of the preeminent status of Dongguan Guoyao Pharmacy in the hearts of Dongguan citizens. Thus, the design renewal must take into account the impressions of the majority of local residents, and follow the design principle of "familiar novelty" for upgrading.Therefore, based on the brand upgrading principle of pragmatic innovation, this upgrade did not completely subvert the logo or make large-scale modifications. Instead, it took the existing image cognition of the logo as the foundation to seek appropriate room for improvement: simplifying the color scheme, changing the cumbersome double red arcs to a concise single red arc; deepening the color of the green cross to highlight its profound heritage; finely adjusting the overly thin arcs to make them natural and gentle; slightly modifying the inclination angle and the width-height ratio to enhance the sense of steadiness and reliability.These subtle adjustments in proportion, color scheme and shape details enable the new logo to not only retain the familiar and trusted image of Dongguan Guoyao Pharmacy, but also achieve an all-round upgrade in line with modern and international aesthetics. The quality is not superficial but hidden in the charm, just like the gentle spring breeze coming—this is what we call an "air-like" upgrade.
