Xie Ruikang. He graduated from Dongguan Middle School and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In 2008, he was admitted to Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts ranking first in professional grades in Dongguan. After graduating with the first place in his major in 2012, he was invited to work at "Xingxia Cooperative Design", the Chinese branch of "Tonic" based in the Netherlands, Europe. He participated in large-scale design and academic projects such as Beijing Design Week, Nanjing Design Week, the China Tour of Sino-Dutch Graphic Design "Happiness for a Hundred Years" Exhibition, the Sino-Dutch International Intangible Cultural Heritage Design Exchange Project, and the Nanjing Youth Culture Week hosted by UNESCO. Four years later, he returned to Dongguan and founded "Xiexie Design", which he has been running ever since.
Xie Ruikang: Founder and Design Director of "Xiexie Design", a comprehensive creative design group in the Greater Bay Area; the only Dongguan-born member of SGDA (Shenzhen Graphic Design Association); a director of the Alumni Association of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts; and Deputy Secretary-General of the Alumni Association of Dongguan Middle School. He also serves as an innovation and entrepreneurship mentor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and a visiting teacher for the brand design course at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The Xiexie Design he founded is a comprehensive design entity focusing on visual creativity. With its team based in Dongguan, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, it pursues professionalism with humanistic care, creative thinking and unique recognition, providing comprehensive cultural and creative design solutions. As a "pioneering ox", it has filled the gap of Dongguan, a new first-tier city, in the national top design circle.
Xiexie Design integrates design into local urban image, commercial brands, trendy fast-moving consumer goods, campus culture, traditional intangible cultural heritage, rural revitalization, enterprise groups, design education, banking and finance, and various public fields. It has greatly enhanced the local awareness of design creativity, updated the image of cities and villages, and pragmatically and innovatively helped various industries upgrade their image packaging and development. Works of Xiexie Design can be seen everywhere in Dongguan's urban area, various towns and streets, and even the Greater Bay Area.
It has collaborated with well-known national enterprises and state-owned groups such as Heytea, Auntea Jenny, Xi Xiaocha, Huawei Terminal, Tencent, Dongshankou Yifangdongshan under Guangdong Materials Control, Hong Kong Country Garden Holdings, Vanke Group, Shenye Group, Záluàn Wúzhāng, Hongli Village, and Zhao Ji Inheritance Pro Store. With high-quality services, it has helped a number of excellent local Dongguan enterprises and state-owned groups, including Dongguan Communications Control Group, Dongguan Water Environment Group, Dongguan Guoyao Group (a leading chain pharmaceutical enterprise in Dongguan with over 8,000 stores), Dongguan Rural Commercial Bank (a leading local bank listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange), Greater Bay Area Golden Town ("a million-square-meter industrial park"), Xiaoyanzi Handmade Desserts, and Aunt Li's Egg Waffles, to achieve sustained development of their brand images. Xie Ruikang is also the only Dongguan-born designer whose works have won nearly 100 global professional awards, including Germany's Red Dot Award, iF Design Award, German National Design Award, Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award, South Korea's K-Design Award, Italy's A' Design Award, Tokyo TDC, China's GDC, Asia-Pacific Design Yearbook (APD), Kan Tai-Keung Global Chinese Design Award, USA's ONE SHOW Asia Pacific Creative Showcase, Macau Design Biennale, and Russia's C-IDEA.
